As we look ahead to November’s general election, Fountain Valley Patch is devoted to bringing you the information you need about every race in town. Here’s our start on the candidates and issues we'll be covering as November draws near.

President Barack Obama has already held a in Corona del Mar. Meanwhile, Republican candidate Mitt Romney has had his own in Newport Beach.

In the 48th congressional district, , a result likely to repeat when they meet again in November.

At the state level, Republican Troy Edgar finished first in 72nd Assembly District, but the slot for his November challenger has still yet to be officially determined.

At the local level, filing won't begin until July 16, but the Fountain Valley City Council has two seats up for grabs. Council member Larry Crandall has decided not to run again, leaving his seat open, and council member Steve Nagel's seat is up for re-election.
