Council to Vote on Preferred 405 Freeway Construction Option
Fountain Valley officials will also discuss council member health benefits and a liquor license for an Arco AM-PM.
s today, the Fountain Valley City Council will have its say tonight.
Officials are scheduled to adopt a resolution on one of the four options presented by Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority for the 405 Freeway Improvement Project.
Aside from a no build option (under which no construction would be done) the three proposed alternatives for the 405 are

Alternative 1
— Adding two lanes: one in each direction from Euclid Street to the 605 Freeway.

Alternative 2
— Adding four lanes: one in each direction from Euclid to the 605, plus a southbound lane from the Seal Beach Boulevard on-ramp to Brookhurst Street and a northbound lane from Brookhurst to the 22 Freeway/7th street interchange.
Alternative 3
— Adding two lanes: one in each direction from Euclid to the 605, and add two toll lanes: one in each direction from the 73 Freeway to the 605.
City staff recommends the council adopt a resolution supporting Alternative Two.
Other business
- Officials will vote whether to allow the Arco AM-PM on 8520 Warner Avenue to sell liquor.
- The Council will revisit the issue of council member health benefits. In April, the Council voted 3-2 to remove health benefits for current and future council members in December 2012.
