Fountain Valley Set to Celebrate National Night Out

The city won an award for its NNO event in 2010.

The weather may be calling for clear skies Tuesday night in Fountain Valley, but at the , there's a 100 percent chance of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

The 2009 animated hit will be shown as the first installment of the city's four-week Movies in the Park program, and will also mark National Night Out 2011.

National Night Out is celebrating its 28th year of promoting crime prevention awareness and generate support for community watch programs, as well as celebrate community spirit and strengthen police-community relations.

Last year, Fountain Valley was one of 39 cities in the 50,000 to 99,999 population category to be presented with an award by the NNO program.

The night's events will start at 5 p.m., and will feature the Bacon Mania food truck as well as Fountain Valley Police officer Joe Zane and his partner Benny, a Czechoslovakian shepard.
