Five candidates, including one incumbent, have filed nomination papers for two City Council seats up for grabs this November in Fountain Valley.

Five local residents have thrown their hats into the ring and officially filed nomination papers to run for the Fountain Valley City Council this November when two seats are up for grabs.

Long-time council member Larry Crandall decided not to run again, leaving his seat open, but current council member Steve A. Nagel will be seeking re-election. Nagel has been a Fountain Valley council member since 2008.

The other four candidates are new to the City Council:

  • Bryan Tice is a businessman who oversees the day-to-day operations of the family business, Windows West, on Aspen St. in Fountain Valley.
  • Duy T. Nguyen is a banker and has been an assistant branch manager for Chase Bank in Fountain Valley since December 2011.
  • Cheryl Brothers is a community volunteer in Fountain Valley.
  • Patrick Tucker has been the Vice-President of Operations for Allen Tire Company in Lakewood since 1987.

The election is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

You state "Cheryl Brothers" is a community volunteer in Fountain Valley. Is this not the Cheryl Brothers who previously was a council member for the City of Fountain Valley?

Now is the time to get our act together and vote for someone that does not want to plaster more businesses in the city. Drop the beer and get off the couch.
