OCTA Seeks Public Member For Board of Directors

The selected candidate will serve as one of two public members on the 18-member board.

The Orange County Transportation Authority is accepting applications for an open public member spot on its board of directors.

The selected candidate will serve a four-year term as one of two members of the public on the board, which also consists of 10 city members, five county supervisors and the Caltrans District 12 director, who serves as a non-voting member of the board.

The 18-member board is responsible for overseeing the transportation agency, including the countywide bus and paratransit service, Metrolink rail service, the 91 Express Lanes, Measure M implementation, freeway, street and road improvements projects and motorist services.

To be eligible, candidates must be residents of Orange County who have not served as a elected official of any city, county, agency or special district. Those interested should submit submit a resume and letter of interest by 5 p.m. on July 8 to Wendy Knowles at wknowles@octa.net or by mail to 550 South Main St., PO Box 14184, Orange, CA 92863.

Candidates will be reviewed by the OCTA executive board, which will make a recommendation by Aug. 8. The newly selected member will replace Peter Buffa, who resigned in May after serving six years on the board.
