Orange County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Patricia Bates signed an emergency declaration today on behalf of the county seeking financial assistance from the state for damage related to last week's La Habra earthquake.
The board of supervisors is expected to vote to ratify the declaration at their Tuesday meeting. If the governor and the White House grant the county's request, it could free up aid for the county as well as residents and businesses.
Orange County officials estimate more than $10.5 million in costs related to quake damage and the response to it.
