Property Tax Bills Will Be on Their Way Soon

The Orange County tax collector says the bills will be sent starting Oct. 11.

Homeowners can expect a little something in the mail soon—their tax bills.

Secured-property tax bills will be mailed between Oct. 11 and Oct. 25, said Shari L. Freidenrich, Orange County treasurer-tax collector.

The first installment of the 2011-12 property taxes is due and payable Nov. 1 and will become delinquent if not paid by Dec. 12, said Freidenrich's office. The second installment is due Feb. 1, 2012, and will become delinquent if not paid by April 10.  To avoid a 10 percent late fee, mailed payments must be postmarked by the last payment date; payments made via home banking must be received by the last payment date.
