"We joked that the motto, 'you only live once,' was the theme for the 2012 year," Casiano said in her speech. "But it is so true. We should not just step into this world, but rather, seize it and make our mark. And at the end of the day, in the future, when we are finished seizing our world, never forget to give thanks to those who believed in you, to those who influenced you and to those who gave you the opportunities to walk in your gowns today."

Alexandrea Chase "mapped" out the years spent at FVHS, speaking of the beginning stages of awkwardness in freshman year and how fast the time seemed to fly by in senior year.

"We may be ending our journey as high school students," she said. "But we will always be Barons for life."

Chelsea Harvey shared some "words about words," as referred to by principal Chris Herzfeld.

"Words describe us from the moment we are born," Harvey said. "We can be greater than the words that people say about us. Words can describe us, but they do not define us. ... And whatever words define us in the future, I trust you all to never forget the impact words can have. ... My dream is that you never let the words that people use limit you, but that you find words that inspire you to be better."
