FVHS Vocal Groups Invited to Perform at Carnegie Hall

The Concert Choir, Troubadours and Barontones will head to the Big Apple sometime this year or next to participate in the Festival at Carnegie Hall.

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. For Fountain Valley High School's Troubadours, Concert Choir and Barontones, that practice is paying off in a big way, as all three have been invited to perform in New York City at Festival at Carnegie Hall, one of the premier music festivals in the world.

Only select choirs, bands and orchestras are invited to perform in this world-renowned venue during the Festival at Carnegie Hall. Under the direction of Kevin Tison, the ensemble was awarded a Gold rating for a superior performance during the San Diego 2010 Heritage Festival, earning them an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2011 or 2012.

Over the past year, thousands of students from hundreds of schools have competed for the opportunity to perform at Festival at Carnegie Hall and Festival of Gold. This elite performance opportunity is designed to showcase only the best music ensembles from around the country. Festival at Carnegie Hall brings ensembles to New York City, where a rich history of producing diverse and acclaimed artists creates the perfect venue to take music programs to the next level. Students who participate benefit not only from an exceptional performance opportunity, but also from a chance to experience the culture of New York City.
