Barons Rout San Juan Hills; Lady Barons, Lobos Fall

Josh Armstrong continued his strong play this season with 16 points and eight rebounds Thursday as Fountain Valley blew out San Juan Hills, 69-37, in the Orange County North/South Challenge. Sean Finley and Tanner Trounce each scored 11, and Zack Richartz added 10 as the Barons improved to 9-2 on the season.

In other boys basketball action, Los Amigos lost its second straight in a close matchup with Santa Ana, 52-49. The Lobos took a 29-20 lead into the half, but were outscored 32-20 in the second half. Richard Tran had his best game of the season with 19 points in the loss.

The Fountain Valley girls basketball team was also in action Thursday night, losing 62-38 at home to El Toro. Emily Krause led the Lady Barons with 10 points in the loss.
