Barons Start Strong at Marina Classic

Fountain Valley won its pool with a 4-0 win over Tustin and a 1-1 tie with Whittier

The Fountain Valley boys soccer team was off to a solid start Tuesday at the Marina Holiday Classic soccer tournament, beating Tustin 4-0 and playing to a 1-1 tie with Whittier to win its pool.

The Barons improved to 7-2-1 on the season after the day's play. In the early game against Tustin, Fountain Valley got two goals each from Ethan Morrow and Joseph Solomon to break open the game in the second half after a scoreless first half.

Against Whittier, the Barons were down 1-0 at halftime, but tied the game on Morrow's third goal of the day.

The Barons take on Long Beach Poly in the first game of the championship bracket Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
