Lobos Cruise in Christmas Classic Opener

Los Amigos led the game wire to wire, improving to 6-3 with a 54-38 win over Century.

It wasn't always pretty, but the Los Amigos boys basketball team ran its way past an overmatched Century team Monday, 54-38, in the Lobos' first game of the Garden Grove Christmas Classic at Century High School.

The Lobos' offense looked sloppy and even rusty at times, but they were able to outrun and outshoot Century, controlling the game from tip to buzzer. Los Amigos led 11-4 after the first quarter, and extended the lead during the second quarter, taking a 24-12 lead into halftime. The Lobos maintained their lead throughout the third quarter, ending on a high note as Jorge Bedolla was fouled hitting a 3-pointer and added the free throw to give Los Amigos a 36-18 lead going into the fourth.

Los Amigos coasted the rest of the way, emptying the bench about halfway through the fourth quarter. The Lobos' next game will be Wednesday against Saddleback. Tip-off is set for 11:25 a.m.
