Photos: Cars Land Sneak Peek at Disney's California Adventure

The new attraction is so cool, not even Larry the Cable Guy's voice can ruin it.

The conversion of Disney's California Adventure theme park, which has been gradually shifting toward more Pixar-related attractions for the past few years, culminates this Friday with the opening of Cars Land.

The new area is visually stunning to say the least, and is by far the most immersive of the park's themed areas. Guests are instantly transported to Radiator Springs, the setting of the franchise's first movie, with plenty of neon and even the occasional drive-by by Lightning McQueen.

The area's main attraction is the Radiator Springs Racers, which takes guests on a cruise through the canyons outside town before finishing up with a sprint to the finish against another car. Other rides include Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi's Flying Tires.

For those not inclined to wait in what will inevitably be very long lines for the rides, simply walking aroung the new area is a joy in and of itself. The streets are dotted with storefronts and dining options, headlined by Flo's V-8 Diner, offering what might be Cars Land's most attractive fantasy for the grownups—gas at just 63 cents a gallon.

Cars Land is open though Wednesday for a select group of annual passholders who either paid or won their way in. The entire park will be closed Thursday as final preparations are made for Friday's opening to the general public.
