11-Year-Old Selling Lemonade to Benefit African Children

Melinda Jack is raising money Saturday and Sunday, with the goal of making $500 to feed 50 children for one month.

An 11-year-old is working to raise money for hungry children at a school in Swaziland, Africa.

Melinda Jack is selling lemonade Saturday and Sunday, proceeds to benefit the Puzamoya Baptist School.

In addition to educating its pupils, the school also feeds them a meal—for some, perhaps the only food they eat that day.

She will be selling lemonade in Fountain Valley at two different locations this weekend.

From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, find her stand on Santa Suzanne Street. From 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., she'll be selling at Beachpoint Church, 17415 Magnolia St..
