Local Family To Be Honored at 2012 Komen Survivor Awards

The Cammacks have been active Race for the Cure volunteers since 1999.

Fountain Valley residents Robert, Carrie and Marie Cammack will be honored with the Most Inspirational Co-Survivor award at this year's Orange County Komen Survivor Awards.

Husband and father Robert and daughters and Carrie have been Komen volunteers since 1999, supporting their wife and mother , a breast cancer survivor and active Komen volunteer. The Cammacks have served in key leadership roles on the Race for the Cure Committee over the last several years and participated in every aspect of planning and supporting the event from T-shirt designs and logistics to registration and pre-race events.

"These individuals are a stellar representation of the team of volunteers and support we receive each year from our community to spread breast health awareness and education and help us find a cure," said Lisa Wolter, executive director, Komen Orange County. "We are proud to recognize these proponents of Komen Orange County for their hard work and dedication over the years while continuing to uphold our cause."

The Awards Luncheon and Fashion Show will take place on Sunday, June 10, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Costa Mesa Country Club. The event will feature breast cancer survivor models in a colorful fashion show while their personal journeys are shared and celebrated, culminating with a special survivor tribute. Diana Jordan, a breast cancer survivor, inspirational speaker and comedian, is guest speaker.
