Still trying to figure out who to back in this year's inauguaral pageant? It's almost as hard as deciding which flavor of gelato to get, so why not combine the two dilemmas into one fun-filled fundraiser?
You can do just that this Saturday at Mangiamo's in Fountain Valley, where Mark Ecker, Dave Osborn, Tim Davis, David Truong and Frank McDowell will all gather for a meet-and-greet. The contestants are free to show up anytime between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., but all five are expected to show up around 4 p.m. for a group appearance and photo opp.
Donation jars will be set up for each of the candidates, who have also been encouraged to go table to table pleading for the public's votes. Bob and Tanya Hoxsie, owners of the gelato and coffee shop, will divide 15 percent of the entire day's proceeds evenly among any of the candidates who stays for at least an hour.
