How To Make Christmas More Enjoyable

Are you taking care of your elderly parents on your free time?  Do you want to relieve some of your stress so you can enjoy the holiday for a little?  Here are a few ways you can make the holidays more tolerable.

First, take a break.  Find support and help for the care of your elderly parent.  Respite care or other forms of short term care can bring such relief.  Don't be afraid to ask for help.  No one person can do everything on their own.  Let go of your ego, and don't put unnecessary stress on yourself.

Simplify and organize.  Make a to-do list to help you prioritize, and possible adjust and eliminate tasks that you don't quite need to do.

Last and most important idea to remember is that don't try to be perfect.  It is impossible to achieve perfection when there are so many factors during the holiday preparation.  There is only a finite amount of time to achieve your goals, so don't worry about every tiny details that you can't control.  You are now well on your way to a merrier Christmas!
