City Officials Reveal Their New Year's Resolutions

Still haven't made yours? Take a tip from these VIPs.

Coming up with New Year's resolutions can be a pain, but with some help from a few of Fountain Valley's local leaders and dignitaries, there's still time to get yours figured out.

Some of the civic celebs we reached out to are no-shows so far (we'll be happy to add theirs once they get back to us), but a select few shared their goals—both personal and professional—for the new year:

Mayor Pro Tem Mark McCurdy: To maintain our high quality of life and cost-effective and efficient government.

City Council member Larry Crandall: I resolve to squeeze in more golf hoping to lower my score and have lots of fun doing it!

Police Chief Dan Llorens: Mine is for the Police Officers to beat the Firefighters (for once) in the basketball game Jan. 28  to benefit the Baron girls basketball team! Failing that, I would be happy with drinking less Coke Zero in 2012.

Recreation and Community Services Manager Mark Nix: I want to learn new recipes and cook more for my family. (Editor's note: Mark should also resolve to give himself more credit; the man who brings us Summerfest and the Orange County BBQ Bonanza should never to say he's not important enough to be included!)
