Frugal Family: Deals of the Week

Fathers Day means it's time to find deals for Dads.

If it’s June, it’s almost Father's Day and time to thank the Dads in your life. In addition to the card that your kids made in school (you know the one, it looks like a tie), you want to get him something special. Here are some gifts Dads will love that won’t break the bank:

  1. Does the man in your life wish he could listen to his old vinyl records? Then Big Lots has the gift for you. For $50, it has a record player that will play those records and cassette tapes, but will also convert them into MP3 files to play on his computer or MP3 player.
  2. If you want to spiff up the home office for your hubby or Dad, take a look at the printer sales event at Office Depot. It has a small-footprint Lexmark all-in-one that prints, copies, scans and faxes for $99.99—that’s $70 off. It also has a Hewlett Packard Photosmart wireless printer that prints, copies and scans for $79.99.
  3. If your guy’s into golf, go to Sports Authority for big discounts on Taylor Made clubs. You can save $180 on a Burner ’09 Driver and pay only $119.99. Or save 25 percent on a wide range of men’s Adidas and Nike golf apparel.
  4. To help Dad cheer on his favorite sports team, try Sports Addict. It has merchandise for fans of all the college and professional teams, including shot glasses for $9.99, mugs for $12.99, pennants for $8.99 and shirts and caps starting at $9.99.
  5. What man doesn’t love a good tool? Orchard Supply Hardware has a great selection on sale for Dad. There’s a Craftsman cordless drill for $39.99, a three-gallon air compressor for $89.99 and 50-piece Stubby tool set for $14.97.
