Joseph Badalian Takes the Helm at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center

Harvard grad and former CEO at Lakewood Regional Medical Center, Joseph Badalian will be Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center's Chief Executive.

The Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center has named B. Joseph Badalian as its Chief Executive Officer, effective Aug. 5. In this role, Badalian will oversee the strategic, operational and clinical activities for the 400-bed hospital and its affiliated outpatient centers.

“Joe is a seasoned executive with a strong record of operational success.” said Jeff Koury, senior vice president, operations, Tenet’s California region. “His highly developed business acumen and relationship-building skills will be a major asset as Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center continues to enhance the quality of patient care at the  hospital.”

Most recently, Badalian served as Chief Executive Officer of Lakewood Regional Medical Center in Lakewood, Calif., having joined Tenet in 2003. Under Joe’s leadership at Lakewood Regional Medical Center, the hospital successfully completed several major capital expansion projects, including an expansion of the hospital’s emergency department and renovation of a medical office building and orthopedic suite.

Prior to his role at Lakewood, Badalian served in executive roles at Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, Calif., and USC University Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif. Prior to his career in healthcare, Badalian worked for Arthur Andersen, LLC.

Badalian holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University San Bernardino and a master’s in business administration from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and is a certified public accountant in the state of California.
