How Many Foreclosure Homes are in Fountain Valley?

And how much are they selling for?

The number of foreclosure homes in Fountain Valley is down 40 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $63,250 less than non-foreclosure houses.

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 78 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Fountain Valley, and a total of 129 homes listed for sale.

The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $518,000 in April. That was 5 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $581,250, up 8 percent from a year before.

In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Fountain Valley was 15 percent lower than in April and down 42 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Fountain Valley in April were up 23 percent from the previous month and up 9 percent from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 838,400 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,680 have been vacated by their owners.
