Three Arrested at Fountain Valley DUI Checkpoint

More than 850 cars passed through Friday's checkpoint in Fountain Valley.

A sobriety checkpoint Friday night in Fountain Valley netted three DUI arrests, a police official reported.

A total of 857 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which started at 9 p.m. and ran through 3 a.m Friday on Brookhurst Street and Talbert Avenue, according to Sgt. Steve DeSantis, of the Fountain Valley Police Department. Of those, two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and one driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

According to DeSantis, four drivers were issued citations for having an invalid license and one car was impounded for 30 days.
