Will Tim Davis Be the First Mr. Fountain Valley?

The inaugural will be held this Friday night, and the contestants are putting the finishing touches on their wardrobes, dance routines and talents. As the pageant approaches, Patch is putting each contestant on the hot seat to answer a few questions. First up: Tim Davis, representing the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club.

How did you get talked into competing?

As part of the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club leaders, they asked me if I would represent Fountain Valley Kiwanis, and I said, 'Sure.' I don't think any of the five guys knew what they were getting into at the time we agreed, because everyone's sweating.

What's your strategy going into the pageant?

It's going to be a lot of fun. I doubt that it's going to be at the level of Huntington Beach, but you never know. I'm going to operate out of the box. [Pageant Director] Jeanne [Hexum-Thomas] kind of talked me into doing something that she wanted everyone to do, and then there was kind of some legitimate argument for not doing it, but I'm going to end up doing it anyway since I'm not the superintendent of the school district. It's about having fun and helping your charity. They're not laughing at you; they're laughing with you.

What's something people might be surprised to learn about you when they see you compete?

I'm just going to give it my best shot dancing-wise. I'm definitely not John Travolta, but I can get out there and do a little dance. Maybe they'll learn that I have a fairly decent sense of humor…I'm just going to get up there and go for it and pretend I'm not being watched.
