Motorcyclist Killed in Fountain Valley Collision

 A 45-year-old motorcyclist was killed today in a collision with a Saturn sedan in Fountain Valley.

David Pascarella, of Irvine, was going east on Ellis Avenue, approaching Bushard Street, about 4 p.m. when the Saturn made a left turn from westbound Ellis Avenue to southbound Bushard Street, according to Sgt. Steve DeSantis of the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Multiple witnesses told police Pascarella ran the red light at Bushard before colliding with the Saturn.

Pascarella was unresponsive when paramedics arrived and declared dead at the scene.

Drugs and or alcohol were not factors in the collision, DeSantis said.
