Crimes reported to the Fountain Valley Police Department over the past week include five burglaries -- three residential and two commercial.
Sgt. Kurt Ulrich said residents should be careful to keep doors and, especially, windows locked.

“Don’t leave windows unlocked or opened. That is a common means of entry,” said Ulrich. “People walk around and look for access.”
Other tips to keep your home and valuables safe: Watch out for your neighbors and don’t forget to lock your car—or your garage.

“As a neighbor, keep an eye on your neighborhood,” he said.
In addition to burglaries, Fountain Valley police responded to reports of theft, battery and indecent exposure.
BURGLARIES:
7/28/13—8:19 a.m.—A burglary was reported at the Recreation Center on the 16000 block of Brookhurst Street.
7/28/13 —2:12 p.m.—At the 17000 block of Laurel Street.
7/26/13—10:59 a.m.—At the 9000 block of Wintergreen Circle.
7/25/13—11:12 a.m.—At the 9000 block of La Alameda Avenue, a residence was allegedly broken into from the resident’s terrace.
7/25/13—4:38 p.m.—A burglary was reported at the Storage Place, a business on the 18000 block of Mount Langley Street.
GRAND THEFT:
7/29/13—11:00 a.m.—At the 17000 block of Waterton Street.
STOLEN VEHICLE:
7/26/13—7:50 a.m.—At the 10000 block of Morning Glory Avenue.
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
7/25/13—5:30 p.m.—An individual was arrested for allegedly exposing himself in a Ralph’s grocery store at the 18000 block of Brookhurst.
