Daytime Home Burglaries on the Rise, Police Report

Fountain Valley police are asking citizens who notice any suspicious behavior around their neighborhood to call 9-1-1 immediately.

A rash of daring, daytime residential burglaries has been occurring in Fountain Valley over the past several months, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

In the majority of these burglaries, suspects have entered residents through a rear sliding door or window, either by prying open the door or using porcelain chips to shatter the glass. Once inside, the suspects are removing personal items, such as jewelry and electronic components, as well as cash.

On a few occasions, suspicious suspects have been seen prior to or during the burglary, but the police department was not notified. During one incident, two suspicious subjects were observed in the driveway of the victim. The suspects were described as both male African Americans, in their mid 20s to 30, driving a blue sport utility vehicle. One of the subjects reportedly was wearing a baggy gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and possibly diamond earrings.
