Two of three U.S. Marines hurt in a street fight in Huntington Beach over the Dodgers and Angels remained hospitalized today, and two suspects were facing an assault charge, police said.

Manuel Alexis Alvarez, 23, of Downey, and Victoria Robledo, 20, of Norwalk, were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and released on bail Sunday, Huntington Beach police Lt. Mitch O'Brien said.

The Marines came to the aid of a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fan being attacked by two Los Angeles Dodgers fans about 1:45 a.m. Sunday at Main and Walnut streets, O'Brien said.

A woman wearing an Angels jersey was accosted by two other women, who were apparently Dodgers fans, and a fight broke out, O'Brien said.

"That's when the Marines come along and try to break it up," O'Brien said, adding that several male friends of the women joined in.

One of the Marines was stabbed in the face with a broken bottle right in front of Huntington Beach officers who were "detaining people all over the place," O'Brien said.

Another was found about a half-block away bleeding, and he did not know who stabbed him, O'Brien said. No hospital conditions were available today, but O'Brien said their injuries were not life threatening.

A third Marine involved in the fight was treated for injuries at a hospital in San Diego and released, O'Brien said.

He would not identify where the Marines are stationed.

Anyone with more information about the fight or who has cell phone video of it was asked to call the Huntington Beach Police Department tip line at (714) 375-5066. Anonymous tips may be made to Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
