Fountain Valley Police Hosting Community Meeting, 'Coffee With A Cop'

The "coffee with a cop" meeting is an opportunity for community members to discuss issues of concern they may have with their law enforcement officers, according to police.

Fountain Valley police want to hear what concerns you have in the community, and to facilitate this, they are hosting a gathering over coffee next week.

The "coffee with a cop" program will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Starbucks Coffee, 17850 Newhope Street, according to Fountain Valley Police Sgt. Tony Luce.

Luce said the event provides an opportunity for locals to discuss issue of concern in a relaxed environment.

"All community members are invited to attend, ask questions and learn more about the Department’s work in Fountain Valley neighborhoods and business areas," he said in a press release.

"Most contact with law enforcement happens during emergencies or emotionally charged situations," he continued.  "Those situations are not always the most effective for building relationships with the community. Coffee with a Cop breaks down those barriers and allows for a more relaxed environment to meet officers and exchange ideas."

If you have any questions about the event, contact Nancy Lopez or Joanne Minney in the Fountain Valley Police Department Crime Prevention office at 714-593-4526.
