He replaces Paul Sorrell as the 4th chief in the city's history.

New Fountain Valley Police Chief Dan Llorens was sworn in Thursday during a ceremony at City Hall.

Llorens becomes just the city's fourth chief of police, replacing Paul Sorrell, who retired after 30 years with the department. Like Sorrell, Llorens started his career as a Fountain Valley Police cadet and has spent his entire law enforcement career in Fountain Valley.
