Local Resident Reports Burglary and $8,000 Worth of Valuables Missing

Police reports from around Fountain Valley.

Theft from a residence was reported from Butterfield Street, Feb. 7 at 4:51 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the property by smashing the rear kitchen window with an unknown object and ransacked the property before fleeing undetected with various electronic items, including a television, camcorder, camera and laptop. Damage was estimated at $150.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Grackle Avenue, Feb. 7 at 5:28 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the locked vehicle by breaking the passenger window and removing a $700 iPad 2 before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $200.

Vandalism was reported from Rogue River Avenue, Feb. 5 at 9:06 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) used white spray paint to write various obscene and racial slurs across a wall at Courreges Park. No witnesses were found.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from La Mora Circle, Feb. 5 at 7:21 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the secured vehicle by smashing a window with a rock and fled undetected with a $50 briefcase, taken from the backseat.

Theft was reported from a gym locker on Talbert Avenue, Feb. 6 at 2:32 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) used an unknown tool to pry open a combination lock and removed a wallet from the victim’s rear jean pocket. No witnesses were found.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from Silky Sullivan’s Restaurant on Slater Avenue near Brookhurst Street, Feb. 5 at 5:48 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) entered the secured vehicle by smashing a window and fled undetected with a purse, containing the victim’s keys and $100 worth of make-up.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from San Jacinto Street, Feb. 4 at 8:11 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) smashed the passenger window and took $2,560 worth of property before fleeing undetected. Damage was estimated at $300.

Theft from a vehicle was reported from San Jacinto Street, Feb. 4 at 8:11 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the unlocked vehicle and took a purse, worth $90, before fleeing undetected.

Theft was reported from Ralphs on Brookhurst Street near Ellis Avenue, Feb. 4 at 2:56 p.m. The victim had driven away from the business before realizing she had left her purse in the shopping cart. Upon return, the shopping cart was found where she had left it but the purse was no where to be seen. No witnesses were found.

Residential burglary was reported on Santa Cristobal Street, Feb. 3 at 12:01 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry by prying a side window and after ransacking each bedroom, suspect(s) locked a safe and by removing the pins of the safe doors and prying the safe door open, $8,000 worth of contents were stolen. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Grand theft was reported from Mariposa Avenue, Feb. 2 at 4:22 p.m. The victims had parked their tree trimming truck in front of residence as they worked in the backyard. Upon return to the vehicle, they discovered $3,600 worth of equipment gone. No witnesses were found.
