Multiple Car Burglaries Reported

Police briefs from around Fountain Valley.

Theft from a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe was reported while parked and locked on a residential driveway on Prunus Street near Siskin Avenue, April 20 at 5:38 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the vehicle by breaking the front right passenger window with an unknown tool and fled undetected with a $100 navigation device.

Vehicle vandalism was reported when an owner of a 2002 Ford Excursion discovered a broken rear passenger side window on Santa Maria Street and El Arroyo Avenue, April 20 at 2:13 p.m. After a thorough check of inventory, the owner reported no missing property. Unknown suspect(s) fled undetected, leaving $600 worth of damages. Officials said a similar incident occurred last June.

A vehicle theft was reported on Flicker Avenue near Plumosa Street, April 19 at 1:48 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) broke the front passenger side window and removed $212 worth of property before fleeing undetected. Damages were estimated at $150.

A woman reported missing vehicle registration and insurance card after discovering a broken front right passenger window on her 2006 Nissan Frontier on Shrike Avenue near Date Street, April 19 at 10:50 a.m. No additional property was taken and damages were estimated at $400. 

Two bicycles worth $200 were reported stolen from the bike rack in front of La Curacao on Harbor Boulevard and Edinger Avenue, April 18 at 4:09 p.m. An unknown suspect used unknown tools to cut open the bike locks and was last seen riding southbound through the parking lot.
