OCTA Bus Driver Could Face Child Porn Charge

An Orange County Transportation Authority bus driver is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow on a felony child pornography charge.

Richard Raoul Contreras, 63, of Garden Grove, is charged with possession and control of child pornography.

A search of Contreras' home in May 2012 led investigators to allege he possessed hundreds of videos and images of child pornography on his home computer, as well as CDs and DVDs, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Contreras is also accused of keeping CDs and DVDs with child pornography on them in his work locker, according to prosecutors.

Contreras, who was arrested Oct. 2, was released from custody when he posted $20,000 bail.

He could face up to three years in prison and be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life if convicted, according to prosecutors.
