According to a FVPD spokesman, at about 4:14 a.m. Sept. 9, an officer saw a white 1995 Nissan Maxima leaving a commercial complex near Harbor Boulevard and Heil Avenue.

The car didn’t have its lights on, and, after turning northbound onto Harbor, the car was traveling quickly.

No businesses at the commercial complex were open at that time and the complex has had some burglaries recently, according to Sgt. Kurt Ulrich.

Ulrich said he didn’t have the exact number of recent burglaries, but that most likely the complex is “hit a few times a year.”

The officer stopped the vehicle for driving at an unsafe speed and not using lights in the dark and to find out why car was driving in a closed commercial complex.

Then the officer saw computers, computer monitors and a large screen television inside the vehicle.

After more officers responded to the commercial complex, they found a smashed window and property missing from one of the businesses, a small business office.
