Vehicle Burglary Reports Escalate in Fountain Valley

More than a dozen incident reports were taken by the FVPD in the past week involving vehicle burglaries, vehicle grand theft or stolen vehicles.

The owner of a white 2012 Mercedes CLS550 four-door vehicle reported on August 2 at 1:36 p.m. that the rear passenger-side window had been smashed and property removed from the vehicle. The unknown suspect(s) fled with victim’s property undetected. Victim said he locked the car and left it on Slater Ave. at 5:30 p.m. and returned at 1:00 p.m. the next day.

The victim estimated the value of the items stolen at $8,100. Property damage to the vehicle is estimated at $600.

Attempted Vehicle Theft. July 25, 8:30 a.m. 0 Martens River Cir. Unknown suspect(s) attempted to steal trailer from a locked/fenced area. Suspects damaged fence to make entry into area. Unable to steal trailer due to flat tire. Property damage: $500.

Vehicle Burglary. July 27, 6:38 p.m. 0 Maple St. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to open locked vehicle and take missing items. No witnesses. Value of loss: $600.

Residential Burglary. July 30, 10:45 a.m. 0 Apache River Ave. Unknown suspect(s) gained access into garage by defeating locking mechanism. Suspect(s) entered residence through garage and took listed property before fleeing the scene undetected.

Grand Theft Vehicle. August 1, 11:28 a.m. Victim discovered that tailgate from Chevy Silverado missing. Last seen at 10:45. No vehicle damage. Unknown suspect(s) fled undetected. Value of loss: $1,500.

Vehicle Burglary. August 3, 7:17 p.m. 0 La Cebra Ave. Victim stated that someone broke into his vehicle between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on 8/3. Lock broken on driver’s side. Unknown if anything is missing.

Stolen Vehicle. August 3, 12:32 p.m. 0 Raritan Ave. Red ’94 Honda Civic. Last seen 3 a.m.-7 a.m. Vehicle parked in front of sister-in-law’s residence.

Stolen Vehicle. August 3, 8:15 p.m. 0 San Mateo St. Green ’94 Toyota Tacoma. Last seen at 8 p.m.

Vehicle Burglary. August 3, 11:18 p.m. 0 Euclid Ave. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to smash rear driver’s side window. Unknown suspect(s) fled scene undetected. Suspect’s sunglasses were left behind, booked as evidence. No witnesses or suspects located. Value of loss: $845. Property damage: $300.

Robbery. August 3, 8:45 p.m. 17991 Euclid St. Suspect entered George’s Burgers through unlocked rear entry door. Pointed an unknown pistol at victim and demanded money from cash register. Victim gave suspect money. Suspect fled out point of entry and into a vehicle traveling southbound on Euclid. Value of loss: $200.

Stolen Vehicle. August 4, 12:11 a.m. 0 La Hacienda Ave. Vehicle parked in carport, last seen previous morning. Right side road rash/red & black in color.

Residential Burglary. August 5, 3:35 p.m. 0 La Naranga. Unknown suspect(s) entered victim’s open detached garage, removed property without permission of owner. Suspect(s) fled scene undetected. Property loss: $2,500.

Domestic Dispute. August 6, 2:27 p.m. 0 Sumac Ln. Brother hitting dad. Brother threw a chair at dad.

Vehicle Burglary. August 6, 10 a.m., 0 Morning Glory Ave. Unknown suspect(s) entered locked vehicle by unknown means. Suspect(s) fled area undetected. Property damage: $400.

Vehicle Burglary. August 6, 10:13 a.m. 0 Santa Isabel St. Victim left SUV parked/locked in driveway. Victim discovered unknown suspect(s) removed the third row seat from inside the SUV. No signs of forced entry. No witnesses found. Value of loss: $800.

Vehicle Burglary. August 7, 1:19 p.m. 17900 Newhope St. Victim’s car parked in front row in front of Costco. Victim entered store to stop. When victim returned to vehicle discovered property was missing. Unknown suspect(s) used unknown tool to push driver’s side window down, which was slightly open. Unknown suspect(s) fled without being seen or heard.

Vehicle Burglary. August 7, 4:13 p.m. 0 Begonia Ave. Unknown suspect(s) broke into victim’s truck and stole various tools. Value of loss: $2,000.

Vehicle Burglary. August 8, 12:25 p.m. 0 Brookhurst St. Unknown suspect(s) obtained entry into vehicle, stole purse and laptop. Vehicle parked in front of entrance in parking lot of business. Rear window smashed to gain entry. Value of loss: $360. Property loss: $300.
