Construction Set to Begin on $1.5 Million Sewer Project

The second year of the rehabilitation program will begin Thursday near City Hall and hit 17 total sites.

Construction will begin Thursday morning on a $1.5 million citywide sewer replacement project.

The construction will begin at the corner of Slater Avenue and Los Alamos Street near City Hall. Work will start at 7 a.m. each day and continue until 5 p.m. The first site is expected to be completed by Aug. 12. Contractors have been instructed to allow traffic to flow as much as possible, but at times, lanes will be reduced from two to one.

The project is scheudled to last about 95 days and repair or replace about 5,000 feet of sewer pipe at 17 total sites throughout the city, including:
