Fountain Valley Census Data to be Released Today

How has the city changed in the past 10 years? We'll have at least some idea by this afternoon.

The U.S Census Bureau will release its 2010 numbers for California this afternoon, so stay tuned to Fountain Valley Patch to see how the city's population and demographics have changed over the past 10 years.

In 2000, Fountain Valley's total population was 54,978. Of that, 54 percent of the population was white, with Asians representing 25.8 percent and Hispanics representing 10.7 percent.

The new data being released this afternoon will include summaries of population totals, as well as data on race, Hispanic origin and voting age for multiple geographies within the state, such as census blocks, tracts, voting districts, cities, counties and school districts.
