Guadalupe Manor Receives Major HUD Grant

The assisted-living facility in Fountain Valley was awarded more than $132,000.

, an assisted-living facility for the elderly in Fountain Valley, has been awarded a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant for more than $132,000, the department reported Wednesday.

Guadalupe Manor was one of nine organizations, both public and private, that received a share of $5.9 million in federal grants. The money is intended to help residents find employment and connect with needed services, and to aid the elderly and people with disabilities to maintain independent living.

Other Orange County facilities receiving grants were Access Irvine Inc. ($130,752) and St. John's Manor in Costa Mesa ($101,001).
