Get great deals on back–to-school supplies in Fountain Valley

It seems like summer just began, but school starts up again in just a few weeks, and it’s time to go back-to-school shopping. But school shopping doesn’t have to put a crimp in your pocketbook, with these great local deals on supplies:

1. Staples offers big savings at its Back-to-School Center. Composition books in a multitude of colors are 10 cents each. A pack of 500 sheets of printer paper is 50 cents, and there’s an online coupon on that will give you an additional 20 percent off of any single item.

2. Dollar Tree has some great buys to help stretch your back-to-school dollars. A box of 40 pencil-top erasers is $1. It also has four-packs of glue sticks for $1 and, 20-packs of #2 lead pencils for, you guessed it, $1.

3. You can find some super-low deals at Office Depot. How about pocket folders for a penny each, or colorful book covers for 25 cents? It also has five-packs of Sharpie brand highlighters for $2.

4. Rite Aid is offering spiral notebooks for 29 cents each, plus rulers for 29 cents and a buy one, get one free sale on lunch boxes.

5. Big Lots has lots of back-to-school items, including colorful 1-inch three-ring binders for $3, clipboards for $1.50 and 10-packs of three-hole report folders for $1.50.
