Barons Suffer First Loss of Season

Turnovers and spotty shooting cost Fountain Valley in a 64-51 loss to Foothill at the La Quinta Shootout.

It was a case of too little, too late Friday night as Fountain Valley put together a solid second half but was unable to overcome costly turnovers and inconsistent shooting in a 64-51 loss to Foothill in the semifinal round of the La Quinta Shootout.

Senior Nathan Moss led the Barons with 17 points in the loss. Junior Sean Finley had had best game of the young season with 12 points. Down 40-26 at the half, the Barons chipped away in the second half, cutting the lead to as few as nine points early in the fourth quarter.

Fountain Valley will head to Cerritos next week to play in the Valley Christian Tournament before returning home Dec. 19 for its hope opener against Segerstrom.
